What are listing fees for homes in Binhamton area? 4, 5 or 6%? Looking to sell a home I have and was curious what agencies were getting. Thanks

Everybody has said it before and they are all correct. You need to make sure that the agent you hire has the tools that fit your sale. Since 85% of the buyers who are looking for a home start their home home search on the internet, make sure the person you hire has a good internet marketing plan.

Commission is always negotiable between you and your agent, there are no set standards as it would go against Federal Laws/price fixing; therefore interview in person, a few local agents from different realty companies, then choose the one you like best and who has the most to offer; choose your agent with care and not by commission alone.

Unfortunately, you won't be able to get a direct answer to your question in this forum from any local brokers because it would give the impression that brokerage fees are fixed - a violation of the NY license law. You will need to discuss fees directly with the broker of your choice after showing them your property. Would a doctor write a prescription without examining the patient?

Certainly brokerage fees affect your bottom line, but assuming all brokers offer the same services and experience for the same price could cost you more money and time in the long run.

Most agents are lucky to have a company website. Some even have a personal website. At Keller Williams Realty we have national and regional sites + two personal sites! Check them out below & let me know if I can help you sell your home:

There are no set listing fees or commisssion. The commission is negotiable and each agent will discuss that when talking with you after doing a CMA on your property. What you would want to do is interview 3 Realtors and discuss what they have to offer. If I can be of help let me know.

Anna's comment is accurate. Never choose an agent based entirely upon commission. A great sales history and knowledge of the area is critical for today's market. I am in your area - if you would like to chat, contact me through this site. Best of luck for a successful sale!

Anna's answer is a good one. To be succinct, I find that rates commonly are at 6%. They can go higher, too. It all depends upon the situation and what has been agreed-upon between the parties.

Great answer Anna. Just follow her advise and you are going to be ok. Like Anna says, not only the commission makes a Real Estate Agent.
Good luck
