We are thinking about to make an offer for a house in W127th Cr &Goodman, very very close to an Elem school.

Asked by Maria, Frisco, TX Sun May 18, 2008

It is actually three or 4 houses from the corner. I want to know about the advantages and disadvantages we could have, now and in a future selling option. Is it a good option or maybe better to continue looking? I love the location ( in general) next to everything. Shoping, restaurants... etc. Please advise!!!

I think what these answers have missed is that your gut tells you that there is something adverse about the lot of this home, and your next buyers will likely feel the same thing that you are. Listen to your instinct here....hope it goes well for you, GOOD Luck!

I am puzzled why you are posted this question. You have a Realtor that knows your situation, knows the local market, and knows the subject property. They are in a much better position to offer advice than any of us.

The one piece of advice I will give you is to sit down and anticipate what your lives might be like in a few years and try to visualize how this home meets your family's needs. For example, as your children grow, is the yard large enough? Where can they learn to ride a bike?
Or as you get older, you may love the view but how do you like climbing 29 steps to the main floor?

Also, you could ask about the city's future development plans... A LOCAL Realtor can best advise you.

After looking at your question again I think it is safe to assume that you have done your diligence here....You probably are over thinking the relation to the street and the school can ONLY be seen as a positive. My guess is that you trusted your instinct and moved on this one if these were the worst things you could think of in regards to resale...So, congratulations!! .... if in order :)

You love the location, you love the house. The advantages appear to be that you would be close to everything. The disadvantage seems to be that you might be too close to everythinfg. Funny how that works. What was your agent's opinion?

You will definately want to have your buyers agent sit down and discuss the answers to your questions with you before you make your offer. A Buyers Agent represents your best interest in the transaction and should do all they can to help you with the advantages and disadvantages to a property you are interested in.
