Is it illegal to list with two different realtord?

We are trying to sell some land and was wondering if it would be illegal to list with two completely differnt realtors?

There's no law against it, but I'm curious as to how you're planning to give two brokers the exclusive right to sell your property.

If you were planning to give them open listings, then, not a problem - you can give every broker in the state an open listing.

Why would you want to list with 2 agencies? You may have some miss conceived idea that listing with 2 agencies may bring more exposure. If your REALTOR is providing prudent marketing efforts and the property is listed at a competitive price all surrounding agents and agencies have access to your property information. Based on the current market conditions in your area, a longer (DOM) Days on market should be expected overall.

TJ - it would depend on the type of agreement you sign with the listing agency. If it's an exclusive arrangement, then yes it would be "illegal" to also list with another agency. However, if you don't have any arrangements in writing pertaining to listing your land, then you could list with multiple agents. Most agencies, however, will usually require that you sign an exclusive agreement with them.

Only one office can list a property at a time. Most likely you will sign an agency marketing agreement that will spell this out.
