If selling a condo in Monroe, NJ - do I need to get a Certificate of Occupancy inspection?

At a minimum, you will need a fire certification. That's law in NJ. It requires smoke and carbon monoxide detectors along with a fire extinguisher. Check in with your local zoning or building inspectors office to see if it is more involved than that.

And remember to leave the new fire extinguisher box on the counter for the inspection

In order to close in Monroe Twp., you need to call your Fire Distrist (#1, 2, or 3) and complete their form and pay a fee. Then they will come out and inspect that you have a smoke detector and CO detector on each level and within 10 feet of each bedroom. Plus you need a fire extinguisher (rated 2A 10B:C) mounted in or near the kitchen with a receipt within the year to show them.

Yes. The Title Company will request it too.
