The condition of the kitchen is usually of concern to buyers so by resurfacing the cabinets and adding the woos flooring that will make the home more attractive and could lead to a faster sale. At the same time what is the condition of the rest of the interior and exterior? It does take more than an attractive kitchen to get the home sold.

I agree that it will generally increase the value of your home. Usually, any renovations added to the home give it a great boost in value. I would look more into it and see how high the price range would go. That will give you a good idea of what the increase in value will be. http://www.oakvillekitchencentre.com/about-us

Like most people have said refacing your kitchen cabinets and floors will most definitely increase the value of your home. But I would also heed the advice of some of the sales agents on here and have your house looked over first. A nice kitchen isn't the only thing that sells a house. When my wife and I sold our old house we ended up having to redo both the kitchen and the bathroom beforehand. http://www.canlikkitchens.net/

That kind of thing is pretty subjective. Typically, if you increase the quality of anything, it adds value to it. The problem is, some people think something is good while others think it is bad. It just depends on the buyer of your home whether the new cabinets would be more valuable or not. http://www.donscabinets.ca

I'd imagine that just about any remodeling work you do in the kitchen will increase the value. Remember, the value of a home isn't only in the materials that are used, but also what the buyer sees as something that fulfills their needs and wants. Most buyers consider the kitchen a key part of the house that needs to look nice. If your kitchen looks nice, I'd be willing to bet that it'll be more attractive to buyers. http://www.k-binnovations.com/kitchens/

This definitely could help add value to your home. I know that a lot of people like to see refurbishments to the kitchen. As long as you make sure the work is done well, and looks good, it should increase the value of the home. It's going to be harder though, to tell how much it will increase the value. I would suggest talking to some contractors for quotes, and then talking to a real estate agent to see how much it might increase. If the numbers work out well, it can be really beneficial to you in the long run.

The kitchen is definitely one of the best things to remodel to increase value. People like to have better kitchens as well as bathrooms. If you reface the cabinets and put in wood floors, you very well could increase the value of your home. There's never a guarantee on how much it will increase, and maintaining these things will be extremely important as well. I would suggest talking to a realtor before making any decisions about this. That way you'll have an idea of what kind of increase you can expect to see from these improvements.

An updated kitchen usually adds value to the home, but there is a bit more to it. You really need to know what the current market value of the home is and then determine how much you are going to spend on the kitchen. You do not want to spend money updating the kitchen if you are not going to get it back.
Some suggestions would be is to make sure you are using neutral colors, once you have completed the work, make sure kitchen counter tops stay free of "stuff" and is there an alternative type of flooring you can use that may be less expensive than hardwood floors.

Do your homework when it comes to pricing things out. You may be able to increase the value without having to spend a lot of money.

Usually work you do on the kitchen will increase the value. It might also increase the appeal that potential buyers have to your house. If you get quality wood floors, you can make the kitchen look amazing. For some reason, the look of the kitchen is a huge factor in whether or not they'll buy the house. http://naplesflooringgallery.com/

I don't think it would hurt it! The first thing I notice when I walk into a kitchen are their cabinets and flooring. If yours is updated and look really nice, I'm sure it will increase it. I would look more into it, but I think it would generally be more beneficial to you! http://www.maplewoodcabinetsllc.com/Bathroom-Cabinets-Pinell…

Cabinets can definitely be a huge part of the kitchen. I recently renovated the kitchen in my house despite not knowing at the time whether we were going to sell the house or stay in it. We wanted to have new cabinets if we stayed in the house. We then learned that having renovated cabinets as well as renovating a few other things in the kitchen and bathroom can add significant value to the house.

It really depends upon what your kitchen currently has. Can you explain to us what your current kitchen looks like?

Santafegirl26,

Upgrading kitchens and baths are one of the best ways to add value to your home. However, one needs to be careful of the items that are upgraded. What improvement is needed most? What shape are the counters in? What about the sink and faucets? Not to mention the appliances. Of course one always has to consider the cost of your upgrade. Is the upgrade cost beyond what can be recovered in the sale price?

If the floors are in bad shape then they should be redone. However, if it is in passable condition, then maybe counters and sink or appliances might be a more effective upgrade.

Sorry to answer your question with more questions. Hope this has been helpful. David
