The Realtors have the tools to give you a close estimate at their fingertips, and are trained. Most should do this without obligation. You can look up for yourself, every sale of like-type properties on the County Auditor site, make averages of like-types by price per square foot, and multiply to estimate yours or the property you are interested in.

You can do a search of homes close to the same style, square footage, bedrooms, etc as your subject property. This will give you a goo idea of what homes are going for. You can visit the County Auditors website look up the property and it will tell you what the "appraised value" of the subject property is. I caution these value tend to be off.

You can contact a local Real Estate Agent who will be able to provide you with a Comparative Market Analysis, which will include Listed, Sold and Expired homes. This will give you a more true value of the home based on "market" condition. I will be happy to provide you a NO cost or obligation CMA. Please email me at Todd@ToddOrrill.com if I can be of service. Please visit my website for more information and buyer and seller reports.

Not sure about this website in particular, but the sales history of any home is public information that can be found on the county auditor's website. Just find some nearby addresses of similar homes and look them up - obviously it's a bit more complex to get true comps (remember to appreciation in might when looking at old sales prices) but with the resources available online you can get a pretty good idea. Of course the realtors on here will tell you that you NEED their expertise (they do have access to a few cool tools that make this research easier - and a FEW even have the experience that they all like to cite). The reality is that easy access to information online puts a task like finding comps within the reach of anyone willing to do some light research.

Also, I'll second Art's comment about Zillow - cool site but their numbers are not based on actual sales

Your best bet is to inquire about the property with a reputable Columbus agent. They'd be happy to 'run the numbers' for you!

I'd caution you on using other sites like Zillow. Their "Zestimates" tend to be vastly different than actuality.

Good luck!
