I've heard that you can bury a statue of St Anthony to help sell your house?

Hi Lorie:

If you want to do it, make sure you get the right Saint. The one that supposedly helps sell houses is St. Joseph, not St. Anthony. Here is an article about this. http://www.cnn.com/2007/LIVING/homestyle/08/31/st.joseph/ind…

The best is still your fundamentals - Price, Condition, Marketing, - There are many more people that sold a house without a statue than with one. But it never hurts to try if you really want to. Miracles can happen but I won't put all my hope on that.

Does St Anthony buried upside down keep snakes away?

Its St Joseph and it does work. It worked for me both times I sold my house in a very short time. I'm talking a week or two. You bury him upside down but you have to dig him back up after you sell your house. I loaned mine to the person that bought my house and she sold hers the next week!!

As crazy as burying a St. Joseph statue sounds it works. We sold our house in a couple of weeks after burying a statue.
Before that no interest in the house at all. Just lookers no bites.
The funny thing is that in a townhouse complex like ours there are many houses alike. One just like ours has been for sale for months now and for less money. It's still for sale. Strange !!!

A good Realtor and the righ price is just as effective.....throwing a home on the MLS and praying over it may have worked in the 70's.......but in this market it takes a bit more! gOOD LUCK!

I think the St. Joseph is where you are headed with this train of thought, as has been suggested.

In this market - pull out all the stops. St. Joseph can't hurt (Bury upside down was what I was told - don't quote me).

It's supposed to be St Joseph, not St Anthony. But pricing your home right and advertising it well usually works better.
