We have gone directly to the audience through the employers as well. We have posted ads at electronic bulletin boards within companies to reach short term tenants. The other area to notify is department heads who might be bringing in temp workers.

It depends on how expensive the home will be. Most rentals are posted and found on CraigsList. Luxury short term rentals are handled by specialists who have access to the small group of luxury tenants. You can contact real estate pros who will guide you through the process.

Hi Kristin:

Here are a couple of places for Marin Short Term Rentals http://www.mesuites.com/index.html

http://www.iqhousing.com/

You might even be able to check with a couple of our local companies such as Fireman's Fund and Autodesk (they both have a lot of contractors in and out of the areas) and see if they will need a short term solution for their employees / contractors.

Another resource is to list it on Craigslist - most of MLS and property management companies in town do not handle short term rentals, but if I was you, I will at least call and try and see if any will help you.

Other option might be to ask your Realtor. We sometimes will receive realtor email asking if any of us have clients who might need a home for a few months.

Just curious, your profile says home selling but you want to rent for three months. Any special reason for doing so? The reason I am asking is if your goal is to sell the house in June, you might want to think about how long or if there will be problem with getting the house ready for sale when there is renter in the house.

Hope this helps.

Here in San Francisco the short term rental model is working well, but we seldom had any call for something in Novato. Craigslist should work well, but I've also have good things to say about vrbo.com. Good luck!

Hi: we have several high end houses and condos that we rent by http://www.vrbo.com it is vacation rental by owner and you do the work but very simple listing your property and professionals look at this site all the time. We have had very good luck renting from a week to several months time. Just be specific in timeframe. Good Luck Michael

You may want to connect with Oakwood Corporate Temporary Housing at: http://www.oakwood.com as they are a great source for housing.

You can list it on Craigslist. Lots of people look there for short-term housing.
Otherwise, you can call one of the agencies that assigns traveling nurses and make them aware you are interested in renting out your houme.
