After 24 years in the business, here is what I tell my sellers when hiring an agent. Specificaly what will that agent do to sell your home? Where are they going to advertise your home, how often, how big of an ad? Do they give you a virtual tour? All of this should be written out with specific time lines when each event will happen. How many homes have they personally sold in that area? Not just the companies, but personally. Is there an easy exit out of the listing with no cost to you in the event that the agent is not performing? All of this will eliminate headaches down the road.
