Jennifer, just so you know.....since you are new to trulia.....your answer is considered to be spam - ie: self-promotion, and isn't allowed. You might want to read the community guidelines for further reference.

Also...........this question was asked back in August............2007 !!!!!!!!!!!
If you look under the question, in a lite font, you will see when questions were posted.

By now I am sure Susan listed and sold her home, and is happily living elsewhere

As an owner there are many resources for you to list. One important one is knowing the price. Go to the website below and see what you can get for your house before you even list it.

Dear Susan, I would agree that you should interview some local realtors. Statistics show that For Sale by Owner homes bring less money than homes sold by Realtors, usually 15%, where you typically pay realtors in our area 5-6%. So, rather than saving money, which most homeowners think will happen, they lose money in their pocket.

I am a realtor in your area and would love to talk to you about how to best get your home sold in our market. I have been experiencing multiple offers on properties the past few weeks- that can happen on your home too!

In addition to Trulia I put listing on up to 30 other websites. Statistics show that between 79 & 82% of today's buyers look at the Internet before buying their home. You need to make certain that your home is marketed in the best possible way, and as broadly as possible.

Give me a call and we can talk about how to get your home sold, and for the best possible price!

At this time Trulia is designed for Realtor listings only. You may want to consult with a local Realtor to determine if they can provide the services you are looking for. Be sure to interview three Realtors to determine market plan, days on market, pricing and the service they will provide you. Good luck on taking the first step.

I think you may be considering listing the house yourself? It is highly advisable to find a local, knowledgeable Realtor to help you sell your house because of these market conditions. When the market was a seller's market it would've made more sense to sell it yourself, however now when it is a buyer's market, it is difficult to sell homes, and to find buyers, using a Realtor is your best bet to not only sell your home, but also to get the most for your home.

Realtors have many more resources through their companies, themselves, their services, and other internet resources, to provide you to increase the chances of quickly selling your home and of selling your home for the best offer. I believe right now the only way to upload your listing onto Trulia is if you are areal estate agent already, but I could be wrong. Either way, good luck on your listing!

Hi Susan,

I first started using Trulia to market my client's listings (in addition to the MLS and other online avenues). It was my understanding that only licensed agents and brokers can submit information regarding a home for sale; however, the policy may have since changed. I am sure a moderator with Trulia will chime in soon with the definitive answer. In the meantime, check out the web reference below for more information. Best wishes with the sale of your home.

Interview several agents. Ask specific questions about your property values, absorption rate, average days on market, and ask about their marketing plan. Based on the information you receive and who you feel would serve your needs best, choose a realtor. Good luck! I hope this helps!

You need to find a real estate professional in your area. Be sure to find out what their marketing plan is. Any Realtor can place your home on the MLS, but you want more than that. You want someone who will do all they can to market your home. I will be glad to give you a referral if you like.
