Dallas - What is the norm to move after closing. Most people i know have been given 10-14 days after closing to move.

Possession is at recordation (close of escrow). It is the best way to protect buyer, seller and broker's interest.
You can lease the property back the the owner if you want.. it just needs to be done correctly,

Usually possession is given once the deed is recorded. You can request a post-possession agreement if you want to stay in the house after closing. There are many other factors that you showed know in order to protect your interests. I would be happy to discuss these with you at any time.

In our area. The move happens before the close of escrow. Possession usually transfers at Close.
