Pop the champagne cork! You've just become a homeowner --an exclusive group to which only 13% of the people on earth belong. (The other 87% of the world's inhabitants are renters!)

(Following the new homeowner party, you should probably change the locks, and make sure all the utilities have been transferred to your name.)

Are you kidding? Run around the home screaming and shouting "It's ours, it's ours, it's ours!!!"... Then enjoy your new home and budget yourself accordingly...

I would advise that you change the locks since you have no way of knowing if keys are floating around somewhere.

Changing the locks is the first order of business, as knowing you have secure entry point should give you peace. This should be followed by changing your mailing address. Enjoy your new home!

My suggestion is to the call a locksmith and change the locks. You have no idea who has a copy of the keys, so just have them changed. All the subcontractors likely had a key, so be safe.
