M R,

In order to make sure you get a reputable company you should check the rating under Demotech or AM Best. Definitely get several quotes from A rated companies. Price will vary depending on coverage amount, construction type and building age. I'm a local Insurance agent with over 10 years experience and I represent several reputable insurance carriers. I would like the opportunity to have you as another satisfied customer. My office number (407)657-8004 or email; JPomales@JPomalesinsurance.com

A couple of things to consider. First, allways comparason shop. A good place to start could be your current auto insurance provider. Also, how do your condo docs read? Does your HOA have building insurance? Some do and if they do, you only need a small policy that is similar to renters insurance. If you do not have local recommendations thru your realtor, friends or the condo board, then let your fingers do the walking and call major insurers.

Hope this helps,

You can review insurance rates here: http://www.shopandcomparerates.com/HOCompareRates300.htm

I'd recommend ASI if you have excellent credit, Olympus if you don't.

You can call my college Gina (239-322-5310), she's licensed with multiple isnurance companies and can find you the best rate.

Hi MR,

Congratulations on your new home. Hunters Creek is a great area. It sounds as though you have already closed and several things need to be clarified. If you purchased your unit using a mortgage the lender would have required that you obtain insurance on the unit before closing if the HOA did not have insurance. More than likely (you need to confirm this) the condominium association has insurance in place that is paid for using your dues for the unit itself, not including the contents (drywall, carpet, appliances and your furniture). If you purchased using all cash, then you will need to check w/ the HOA as above. Call or email me personally and I will be happy to share insurance companies I've recommended to my clients in the past. When comparing insurance make sure not only to compare rates but also coverages as lower rates don't always compute into equal coverage.
