Reeney, First and foremost I suggest you contact your own insurance agent first, if he or she is a broker they might have access to mobile/manufacture home insurance, that way you are being loyal to your current agent, if not the agent might be able to referr you to someone who can and will follow up that you are getting coverage that you really want not just what is offered. Usually all Escrow Officers have relationships with reputable insurance carriers. So as an alternative you can talk to any Escrow Officer and they will be happy to referr you to an insurance carrier.

You can get insurance on a mobile home here in Malibu. It is offered through the local Farmers insurance agency. I use Mark Ball Insurance in Malibu. The insurance covers the structure and contents for fire and some other events. The policy covers like for like replacement. If you lose you mobile home to fire the policy will replace the mobile home with a like kind and quality mobile home. The cost is not too bad either when compared to normal home insurance on a traditional home and property. There are currently 2 mobile home parks in Malibu Real Estate and you can get insurance at both parks...

The insurance for mobile and manufactured homes is different than what you would buy for a regular stick-built home. Be sure to contact an insurance agent who specializes in mobile and manufactured homes so you'll have a good idea as to what options are available to you.

Not at all. There are several MH specialists. Try Foremost Insurance. They're the biggest. Then there's State Farm and Allstate depending on where you're located. Here's my blog if you ever need more comprehensive about MH's:
