I was wondering if sinkhole coverage is worth it in Florida.

My deductible just changed to 22,000 for sinkhole coverage and I was told most major sinkhole issues are covered under Catastrophic Ground Cover Collapse which I would still have.

I'd want to know something of the geology under the home first. For a sinkhole, it must first be on top of limestone. But there are different varieties of limestone and some are more prone than others.

Like all forms of insurance, it seems overpriced until the day you need it. That said, you can shop around to see if another insurance company will give you a better quote.

A very important and technical question for an insurance professional, not for a realtor to guess about. Sinkholes do cause major damage.
