I really don't think there is anyway to find that out unless you know the mortgage company they are with. Some of the agents at may be able to help you further. Contact them =).

If you are trying to get an idea of the insurance cost of owning the home just call an insurance company and tell them you're in the process of buying in that area and they should be able to give you a ballpark number.

If you do not want to deal with the Owner, I am figuring it will be quite difficult if not impossible, only the Owner can answer that question. If there is a mortgage on the property the mortgagee will know but unless you are the property Owner or authorized by the Owner they won't tell you either. Just out of curiosity how does "the house" being insured or not affects you? Are you the tenant?

Marla, Why do you need to know? If you are buying a home you would need to purchase your
own policy. The owners current policy would not be transferrable to you. If you are renting
the policy does not cover you it only covers the homeowners. In Florida tenants have the option
of purchasing "renters insurance " again it is only an option. You need to be more specific.

I don't know of a way to find out if a property is insured or not. What is it you're trying to accomplish? Is there a problem with the house? Are you renting it, or wanting to buy it?? You'll have to be more specific.
