I think it's really important to look around before hiring anyone for something like this. My suggestion would be to talk to people you know that have had fences put in recently. They should be able to tell you who to talk to. Once you have some suggestions, you should meet a few of them. That way you'll be able to pick the best option, and you can be more confident about that decision.

Depending on where you live, there are probably a lot of different companies you can go to for a wood fence installation. Depending on how high you want it to be, you could get it a lot cheaper than you would a vinyl fence. Vinyl lasts longer, but if you're not worried about that then a tall wood fence would be the way to go. http://www.alpinefenceglenview.com

I agree with both of you guys, you should talk to your neighbors. They'll be able to tell you the best companies that can help you install a fence. First you're going to have to decide on a material that you want to build it out of. Make sure that it is something that will be strong and last a long time. http://www.4cornersfencingco.com/

Lewis is right, you just have to talk to your neighbors or look for reviews online. Installing a wood fence isn't too hard, and I'm sure that there are a lot of people in your area who could do it for you. The hardest part is putting in the posts. You'll probably have to contact the city to find out where you can and can't dig. http://www.arborfencecompany.com

I don't know of any specific services in your area that specialize in that kind of thing, but I'm sure there are a lot of them out there. I suggest doing an online search and reading some online reviews. After you've narrowed down the search by using those methods, I recommend calling a few of these services and getting quotes. That is the best way to find a service like this. http://www.newenglandcedarfence.com

I think you need to do research on what type of wood you want, because there are lots of different types to choose from. They also have varying price ranges, so you need to be careful that you get something within your budget. It's easy to go over your budget so be careful when looking at fencing options. http://www.homesteadfencene.com

I would look for a local fence contractor online. I tried putting one in by myself last summer and just about tied! it was way more work than I thought. I ended up hiring a contractor to finish it up for me because it was so much work! http://www.amazingfencing.com.au/location/melbourne/

There's a bunch of people you could go with. My suggestion would be to ask around. Word of mouth is a great way to find reliable workers. You can quickly find out who is good and who isn't when you talk to your neighbors. http://www.hahnaafencing.com/services

The best way to go about that would be to ask your friends for recommendations. That's what I did to find the company I use. Otherwise, you could look online and in newspapers. http://www.fencenashville.net

I agree with Kiara, you should definitely ask your friends. If there is an HOA in your area, you'll have to ask them to see if there is a certain material that they want you to build it out of. Just make sure that you build it sturdy. I would have a professional help you out if you haven't done it before. http://www.kavinfence.com/contact.htm

I think it depends on your area. I would call around and see if there are any contractors around your area who specialize in fence setup. They should be able to help you with everything you need. Good luck and I hope your fence turns out great! http://www.reevesfence.net/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=3

You should ask around for recommendations. Any neighbors, friends, or family who have had fences installed. Check out the work they had done and decide if you like it or not. Meet with the companies that did good work and decide which one you would most like working with. That is likely the best way to ensure that you get things done the way you would like them done.

This is something that you should ask your neighbors about. They should be able to give you a list of recommended fence installation companies. Then, you can get quotes from all of them and select the best option for you.

I'm in your same situation Eugene. We moved into a new home that doesn't even have a fence in the back yard. We basically have no privacy at all between us and our neighbors. We've been looking around for a couple of days now trying to find a company to install a wood fence for us. http://www.allcountiesfenceandsupply.com/wood-fencing.html

Thanks for the advice, Cory. You have helped me out a lot on these forums, and your information is always accurate. The fence that came with my home is ugly and falling apart. I was having trouble finding a fencing company, but you have pointed me in the right direction.

A privacy fence can do a lot for a property. It is nice to be able to host events and do as you please on your property without worrying about nosy neighbors peeping in on everything you do. There are lots of companies that will install metal and wood fencing, depending on what you are looking for.

You should try asking you neighbors who they have used. If they have fences, then they will have experience with local fencing contractors. Then, you can shop for quotes among a recommended group of contractors.

Referrals are always nice. If you don't have any family or friends who have had a fence put in recently, you can still look at online reviews. Yelp and Angie's List are both good options for local contractors. http://www.yorkfence.com

We just got a home and want to put in a fence. What installers are in the area, and any experience with any of them?
