Agreed, agent who has experience with your price point and financing restrictions. From there, only you can answer that question. Interview several, ask for references and call them. I'm coming to the party late here, so I suspect you've already chosen your agent given your timeframe. Hope it is going well!

Hello Finn,
I just came across this on Trulia. Did you find a home yet? Look for a VA Certified Specialist. And a Homes For Heroes Represtentative. The best way to interview a Realtor, is to give them a call. When helping folks relocate, calling the agent myself and interviewing them helps me to recommend a great agent for my clients.
Because I work with the military, Relocation is an area in which we are well versed. Check out http://www.homesforheroes.com for special discounts and this will help you locate a VA specialist in the area you are interested. Good Luck

Search our team's website 24/7 or check out the Trulia homes portal. We're ready to preview homes, take still pics and video to email to you -- and even have you sign offer(s) electronically. We are here to serve you. A $220K cap means you'll likely end up with a condo or a Colony home. Be aware there is a lot of competition for homes at this price point in Camarillo.

The best agent for you is one is from the area you want to purchase your home. You should interview a few agents. Go with the one who you seem most comfortable with.
I have been working with internet buyers for several years now and have systems set up where I can email you daily updates of homes that match your criteria from all real estate companies. Our system includes Bank Foreclosures, Company Owned Properties and distressed properties. It is a free service. Would that interest you?
I also work with local lenders and not profit lenders, if you are a first time homebuyer you may qualify for up to $35,000 of down payment assistance with as little as $5000 down. Let me know when we can get together for 20-30 mins so I can go over my services and take down exactly what you are looking for.

Consider interviewing a few agents from different realty companies, then choose the one you like best; ask about scheduling around your needs, who will choose the properties to be seen, can you expect updates on new listings and recently sold properties, and how often will communication occur, etc. Ask about current sales in your areas of interest, negotiating strategies, etc.; choose your agent with care.

Ask your friends and family to refer you to someone who they know and trust. That's the best agent that you will find:) Very exciting time to be buying a home! Congratulations from this Ct Broker!
