what % should agent receive for selling vacant land?

As others have stated, commissions are always negotiable.
You would be well advised to evaluate your purpose for selling.
This will determine if you want your property marketed by an agent who places it in the MLS and waits for a buyer.....
An agent who will find the appropriate buyer for your vacant land.
Based on whether your intent is to market or sell, choose properly.

IT IS AGAINST FEDERAL LAW for any agent or broker to discuss commissions in an online forum such as this. You are better off calling local agents, you can ask what they charge and what you get for the fee. they can not discuss what others charge.

Actually, for selling vacant land in this market, I'd offer a real estate comminnion of 10% depending on the location, sales price, how fast you need to sell.

Have the listing agent take 4% and offer 6% in the MLS to the buyer's agents

Do as I say and it will sell faster

Hello Deborah,
All commissions are negotiable as there are no set standards which would be against anti-trust laws. I suggest that you interview a few agents from different real estate companies to determine what their fees are as well as their experience at selling land.

Before, you choose a realtor, interview 2 or 3 and ask them what their commission is.
