The question of whether a neighborhood is safe, is one that you should answer for yourself. Here's some websites that will help.

http://Cbi.state.co.us Get info on crime in Colorado, sex offenders

http://www.FamilyWatchdog.us A site to get info on sex offenders

http://www.nmtf.us North Metro Task Force) Get info on meth labs

http://www.ci.arvada,co.us Get city info on Arvada. For other north metro cities, just put their name in place of Arvada (e.g., http://www.ci.Westminster.co.us)

You may also want to find out how many foreclosures are happening n a certain area, as vacant homes invite crime.

Personally, I love Arvada and there are some deals right now, especially if you're willing to do some cosmetic work on your new home.

I would say that you would like Wheat Ridge, Edgewater, or Lakewood. Arvada and Littleton might be out of your price range if you are looking for a single family home. If you are looking for a townhome or condo than I would also suggest Arvada and Littleton. How far away are you will to travel outside of Denver?

If you would like me to send you any homes or talk to you about the area, I would love to do so!

Depends on what your definition of Good/Safe Neighborhood means. For example, someone moving from New York City might define good quite differently then someone moving from Nebraska. The more accurate way for you to find out what is a good/safe neighborhood for you is to visit some sites such as:

Oh my... so many choices... I am particularly fond of Wheat Ridge and Arvada.(north of I-70 and east of downtown). Older homes, established neighborhoods.

And there are some great opportunities in Westminster. (more north). Lots of split levels, big yards.

Of course, it depends on what sort of house you had in mind...
