Right this minute it is a hot 85 and muggy! We have had a lot more rain this season, just like most of the US. Normally, we have a hot July - Sept about 80-90 degrees is normal, then it starts cooling off late October. Our Nov-Dec is generally mild and our coldest months are Jan- March. We usually only have 1-4'' snows, but we can have 6"- 12" snows and sometimes more. This is a fantastic area to live in and we are fortunate to actually have all four seasons instead of just all hot or all cold!

If I can be of more help or answer more questions about Murphy, NC just let me know!

We did some research and compiled an information book about the area when we listed our Lake Apalachia home. The below site has great information & weather grafts for yearly averages in temps, precip, snow, humidity, sunshine - Lots of info

As for our home which is 23 miles south west of Murphy, we do not have to take any of our bulbs out of the ground for the winter. We have been told that our home is on/in a "thermal zone" and that there are many in NC. Amazing what grows here. And in the 6 years we have lived here we have had very little snow.
