Hi Margaret:

Wayne (19087 zip code) can fall into three townships and counties, as three separate school districts, and therefore three separate property tax millage rates

The townships & counties for Wayne, 19087 break down like this:
1-Tredyffrin Twp/Chester county/Tredyffrin/Easttown SD
2-Radnor Twp/Delaware county/Radnor SD
3-Upper Merion Twp/Delaware county/Upper Merion SD

Then the Millage rates for each of the three Wayne areas break down like this:

Upper Merion has the following Millage Tax Rates:
Millage Rate (County): 2.695
Real Estate Mills Municipal: 1.991
Real Estate Mills School District: 15.24
Total Millage Rate: 19.926

Tredyffin has the following Millage Tax Rates:
Millage Rate (County): 3.965
Real Estate Mills Municipal: 2.23
Real Estate Mills School District: 16.97
Total Millage Rate: 23.165

Radnor has the following Millage Tax Rates:
Millage Rate (County): 5.184
Real Estate Mills Municipal: 3.3411
Real Estate Mills School District: 20.2731
Total Millage Rate: 28.7982

I'll use a current listing (at the time of this writting) located at 513 Springbrook Ln, Wayne/Upper Merion Twp
which has annual taxes of $4465 per year (based on 2010 tax yr) with an tax assessment of $222,220 (see the breakdown of each of the Millage rates for Upper Merion and multiply x $222,220)

I hope this helps. If I can be of further service to you here in Wayne, please don't hesitate to contact me anytime.

Kindest Regards,

Hi Margaret,
I am selling a 4BR- 3 &1/2 bth home on close to an acre and our taxes are $5,200/year. If you are still in the market for a home I would be happy to put you in touch with my realtor.

Hi Margaret, Linda Walters here. Depends on a lot of factors: where you are living, age of the home, etc. Upper Merion has much lower taxes because they have a great tax base in the King of Prussia Mall. New construction tends to be overassessed and older homes tend to be underassessed. Could be anywhere from 4500 to 7500/ year

Margaret,
It depends on many things--how old is the home? What part of Wayne is it located in--which township? Any answer could be very misleading when it comes to a particular home.
