Mystic is located in the towns of Stonington and Groton. Mystic is actually a fire district and village but taxing is done at the town level as are the services other than what is provided by the state highway dept. The budgets for both towns are readily available for downloading and reading off line. Houses are varied in prices a great deal depending on how far from the water they are. There are public beaches in both towns and RI only 15 to 45 minutes away has some epic ones. There is a YMCA and lots of after school programs last I looked though my kids are in their 30's now. It seems rather obvious that if you live in a town and pay the taxes to support the school system you voted for good or bad that yes that is the one you are going to have to use unless you pay additional money to another district. Like any other town as well the schools are as good as the parents have done raising their kids to behave and be motivated to learn. You can not motivate kids with higher taxes it is learned at home.
