Hi Smitty,

No it should not be difficult to obtain home owner's insurance on an REO.
Premiums will vary based not only on location and the other usual items, but coverage you want and claims history for the property.
I tell my buyer's that very basic coverage may cost about $50-$70/month.

Make certain that you shop around with many different companies to obtain the best rates & coverage.

Should not be a problem at all, rates vary tremendously so make sure you shop around for the vest rates. There are no difference in getting insurance on an REO vs. a real people owned home provided that you check insurability on the home within your inspection period (CLUE Report)
