You mentioned in your question that you worked with your agent for a couple of years and ultimately bought a house with her. That suggests that you were happy with the services and dedication she provided...enough to stick with her through to the end of the transaction. It sounds as though you had enough time to change agents if you weren't totally satisfied.

Assuming you had a positive experience, I would contact her first and listen to her plan for selling your current home. Look for her internet, social media and general marketing plan, her pricing strategy, her staging suggestions, and other elements unique to what her Broker can offer.

If you are not convinced you are getting the best program, ask friends or family for an agent referral. This is a great way to find an agent that has already proved herself to someone you respect.

This is a unique market time and homes are selling very fast on the Main Line with many getting multiple and over asking offers. You're in a good position to sell right now!

If you have confidence in her ability, and have been happy with the services she has provided you over the years - why look for someone new?
We all value loyalty, and if she has proven to you that she is a capable agent........why not continue that business relationship?

So.........Is she competent?
Does she have experience listing homes in your area?

Ask her for a written marketing plan...........if you feel it is thorough, then I see no reason why you shouldn't work with her.

If you want other price opinions, she can always ask some of the agents in her office to stop by and give you a price opinion......those opinions will be unbiased as they have nothing to gain, or lose, by sharing their true feelings.

Now.....If you are uncertain as to her listing ability, then certainly you can/should call in another agent or 2 and see what they propose.

Who you choose to sell your home is a big decision. Many people feel loyalty to the agent who helped them purchase the home in the first place, and that is completely understandable. However, you owe it to yourselves to make sure you hire the right agent for the job of selling you home. Ultimately, this isn't about feelings, this is business.

Most people will interview two or more agents to sell their home. You want someone who you feel comfortable with not only as a person, but you want to feel comfortable knowing that the sale of your home is in their hands, and they will use the resources at their disposal to get the job done as quickly as possible while netting you the most money as possible.
