You should have a lot of options to choose from, and one-bedrooms can still be had at bargain basement prices these days. The well priced bank-owned properties are seeing investor pile-ons just like any in many other areas, but you should be able to snag a good investment with some research and a good buyer's agent to help you out. Most 1 bedroom rentals along the east side of Sheridan can fetch $1000 or more depending on finishes, views, building amenities, etc. Good luck and have fun!

Hi Marissa,

Depending on the building, amenities, size and finishes of the specific condo... prices vary. They can be as low at $895 and as high as $1500. Do you have a specific building (s) in mind?

Hi Marisa,

Rentals for 1 bedroom units in the Edgewater range from $800 - $1475, these are actual rentals within the past month.

Obviously, the better the condition the better amount you'll receive. The location & has a lot to do with it as does the condition/safety factors of the buildings, proximity to public transportation, amenities, etc...

Hope this helps and if you're looking to purchase something please don't hesitate to call on me.

Good luck!

Marisa,
I have had quite a few short sales on the market in the Edgewater /Rogers Park area. Most recently have an approved short sale located at 1138 W. Pratt, just a couple blocks from Loyola and the Red Line and east of Sheridan near the lake. It would make for a great investment option as a rental.

I specialize in short sales and have extensive knowledge of many of the buildings in Edgewater; I would be happy to provide some guidance.

Here are photo links of two properties you might be interested in and are under $150k

That can depend on many factors: location, access to the Red Line, building amenities, parking, etc. One bedrooms can rent fro $900-1500. Take a look at our site: http://www.imovechicago.com to get a sense of the pricing on properties we have listed. We are located in Edgewater at 5650 N Broadway. Stop in and talk with one of our 40 rental agents to get their opinion

A few buildings in the area are have deeply discounted sales. Depending on size you can expect to receive at least $900-$1100/mo. I am very familiar with the area. Feel free to contact me should you have any questions.

There is a lot of these available. You can get some of these for cheap. Under 150k. I would get a good buyer agent to help you out. Its free to use their services.

The area for rentals is pretty hot. Its got to be in good condition to get the better rent.
