This house was never on the MLS. It appeared as an open listing briefly several years ago, and was still showing up as for sale.

In this case, the agents are easily identified by finding the house on the websites of the firms that had it as an open listing. It is then a simple matter to contact those agents to request that the posting be removed from their systems.

In any case, we have begun to take care of it. It is being taken off our site and off the sites of several other local firms. That is the first step to making sure that no aggregators can pick it up.

Data appearing on Trulia DOES NOT COME FROM YOUR LOCAL MLS.
Trulia receives data from LISTHUB, a third party data aggregater.
Both ListHub and Trulia take the liberty to mangle, fold, staple and mutilate data as it fits their marketing objectives.

Data appearing on Trulia is NOT with the consent of the real estate agent. For most homes shown for sale on Trulia, the agent identify if extremely hard to determine.

Chris, you need to read the "Edit" disclaimer provided here on Trulia.

Best of success to you,

If your house appears as "for sale" on Trulia, it is because real estate agencies have it in their systems as available to be sold. You can go onto the websites of the various local real estate companies. Whichever sites your house shows up on, telephone or E-mail the contact person; and ask that the posting for your house be taken down.
