Even if it is not on the MLS an agent can prepare an offer and present it to the owner. They may or may not be interested in selling, but there isn't anything prohibiting you from offering what you would be willing and able to pay.

Have an amazing day!

This zip is not in Los Altos. What is your real question?

If the listing has the logo for RealtyTrac ...

Then what you are seeing is NOT an actual listing … it is an advertisement for RealtyTrac.

RealtyTrac is a provider of data for distressed homes. This data is used by investors and Realtors to track distressed homes. When you see the RealtyTrac logo, you are not looking at a home that is actually available for you to buy: what you are seeing at is either (1) the notice of default for one of the mortgages on the property in question, (2) a notice of an impending trustee sale or (3) a notice of a completed trustee sale.

RealtyTrac notices can be very deceptive because they usually give loan amounts, not the purchase price or fair market value. When and if this particular property hits the market, it will be at market price for the neighborhood.

Bottom line: RealtyTrac is trying to get you to sign up for their service.

Hi Kaili,

I appreciate your sentiment of purchasing back your great grandmother's house. Please provide us further details, so we can do every thing possible to help you with the process. As stated below, there is no current listing on Jay street.

1. Can you provide home address?
2. Is there a for sale sign on the property and you can get the agent's info?
3. If the sign says coming soon, even then get the agent's info?
4. Who declined to provide you the sale price?

Even if you are not able to get the above information, please give me a call, so I can get some other
vital infor to find this home.

Best Regards

Hello Kaili~

There is no property listed on the MLS for Jay street in Los Altos. Perhaps it has not been listed yet. If you could let me know what the listing agents name is I could contact them directly. There would be no reason why an agent would withhold any information of a property that is up for sale. Number one it is illegal, they may have not come up with a price yet with it being listed as an in-house broker listing at this time..

Best Regards~
