money was put into a escrow account for repairs to the garage but the home was condemned / infested with termite damage so where is my money

That will depend on where it was specified to be held in the contract that you signed allowing the escrow. A shorter answer may be: To whom did you make out the check :)

Your attorney should be handling that process.
Unless of course there was no attorney, and/or you didn't have the correct contingencies in the agreement.
Either way, now would be a good time to talk to an attorney if you haven't already.

This needs to be answered by someone in possession of all the facts, someone who knows local real estate law, which means an agent involved in the transaction or, better, an attorney. I have a feeling it may not be a simple matter.

Hi Terry,
Are you working with a realtor? Did you represent yourself in this transaction? Whose is named as the payee in the check you wrote for this contract?

If you are represented, ask your realtor. If you are not, consult your lawyer.

Usually the closing Attorney holds the escrow money. You should contact their office and explain the situation. They should be able to answer your question. Best of Luck! -- Mike
