Here's the gods honest truth. There's A LOT of credit repair companies out there but there's only a small handful that are good. That are honest, legal and will get you results quickly. I'll include a link to one of them. They are also very affordable. Hope this helps.

My scores were actually worse than that. My co-worker used to fix her credit. She just wanted to have better credit but I ended up using them to raise my scores so I could buy my home. There's a lot of scams out there but they were honest and did everything they said they'd do.

Going to agree with Lance. Find a reputable lender and talk with them. I have had great experiences with my lender with clients and potential clients.

Another way to get free information is to talk with a reputable lender. They can also give you tips on how to fix your credit report so you can get into position to buy.

Hi parnett30,

In January of this year I attended a Bay East Association of Realtors® "Housing Opportunities" round table event concentrating on Credit Repair and counseling.

The major takeaway: NEVER pay for credit repair!

Quite frankly, anything a "credit repair" company can do you can do yourself. Understand there are no quick fixes and the length of time to get your credit back into shape will likely be at least a year (depending on what issues you actually have).

One of the leading non-profit credit counseling companies in the US is National Budget Planners, which you can check out at

I would encourage you contact them today and get started with their FREE Budget and Credit Counseling
