Hi Smalltowngal,

There are 55+communities that are currently on the market in Westchester County. These include the towns of Yorktown Heights in northern Westchester down to Scarsdale in south central Westchester. What is nice about Christie Place in Scarsdale is that it is withing walking distance to Metro North.

For a list of train schedules, click on:

http://mta.info and then the schedules tab.

If you would like a showing of any active properties, please call me at 914-315-6182.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Hi Smalltowngal!
With all the aging baby boomers (and I happen to be one of them!), over 55 communities are popping up all over the state. There are a number of them in the area that I cover , northern NJ ( Essex and Morris counties), which offers an easy commute to the city - anywhere from a 30 min midtown direct train, to a 50 min express bus. There are a variety of options open to you if you don''t want to drive your own car - bus, train or short drive to the Path train. The community you choose is up to your personal preferences and budget. Feel free to reach out to me, and I can be more specific in regards to the various communities that I cover. I am well versed in all the local complexes.
It would be my pleasure to help you!.
All the best to you in your search!

Good Morning Smalltowngal,

Have you considered Monmouth County?
There are many adult communities with easier access into NYC via bus or train.
I have attached a couple of web-sites that you can explore to find out more about Monmouth County.
Please feel free to reach out to me. I would love to help show you all of what Monmouth county can offer you.

Happy Searching

If you are going to be commuting to NYC -then Toms River area may be your best bet as they have an exress bus to NYC with no stops. I have taken the bus myself being a native new yorker myself I know what it's like to commute - spent many a days on the LIRR and Metro North commuting and I have to say the express bus to Port Authority is a dream. So much nicer!! Feel free to call me and I can show you the communities within prxoimity to the bus station!

There are soooo many nice adult communities in Ocean County but an easy commute to NYC may be more difficult to find. You would either have to take the bus or drive to the train. Please feel free to contact me with your criteria in a home (bedrooms, baths, price range, etc) and I would be happy to provide you with specific communities.

Small Town Gal,

There are loads of adult communities in Ocean and Monmouth County (ranging from $150k to $1M), many of which are priced well due to market conditions. To more directly answer your question, it would be helpful to know your price range as this would help narrow down the choices.

Feel free to contact me direct at any time at Francesca@PatrizioRE.com with questions regarding Adult Commmunities as a good portion of my business has been working with those seeking this type of homeownership and I've personally visited many area communities.

How are you?
For last 4-6 years I see "Active adults" communities were growing up as mushrooms after rain.
In the area where I live they’re few new communities in Denville, Rockaway, Parsippany-Troy Hill.
In Denville theres is a train to Midtown direct and bus to 42nd street. In Rockaway there is bus express to 42nd street and in Parsippany there are few buses going to NYC. These are places that came into my mind right away. They all very nice and about 1-5 years old. If you need more info about these comunities, do not hesitate to ask, or "google" them.

Adult communities seem to be everywhere. Monroe, here is Middlesex County NJ has over 300 adult community homes for sale and is a little over an hour of a commute. How long of a commute are you willing to have and what's your price range? That will probably help us point you in the right direction. Good luck!

That's an excellent question! Ocean County is home to a number of excellent Adult Communities. I've attached a link to our "Adult Community Whitepaper", which is a comprehensive report on most of the Adult Communities in Northern Ocean County: http://www.flanaganrealty.com/adult.htm

Most of these communities are located within easy on/off access of the Garden State Parkway but you are still looking at an hour plus commute as NYC is 70 miles north of here. Please feel free to respond with any other questions.

Thank you,
