I am moving to Hawai due to job and dipping my toe in unknown waters and I wonder if a 3 bedroom 2 bath about 2000 Sq ft. around 200.000 is possible?

You may have to look for a while, but the potential is there to find something in this price range. Check out various sites or speak with a realtor in Hawaii -- they can assist you with your search.

One caveat...if you do find something to your liking in this range, you may have to pull the trigger quickly. Cheap homes in Hawaii don't last long...Get prequalified, and be ready to write an offer ASAP if your agent advises you so.

It is possible to find a 3 bedroom 2 bath home for around $200k as long as you are willing to commute. It really depends on what you are looking for...If you are looking in Metro Honolulu you will not be able to find a property for $200k, but if you are willing to look farther their may be a few homes available. The sq footage is going to be less then 2000 but their will be something.

I would be happy to help you with your home search. Please contact me if you are interested.

Hi Samaustx,

The lowest priced homes on Oahu go for $250/SF and up. $200,000 will get you a condo for approx 800 SF, in an area outside of town (Metro Honolulu).

Most people downsize by 30-40% when they come here, so I recommend going to less than 1200 SF. Or perhaps start with a studio if you can, then work up to a bigger place. Do you have family members with you?
