I personally have vacationed in Sarasota for 20+ years, living in Fort Myers and Naples before moving here so I am very familiar with the west coast of Florida and can tell you that this is a great town to live in. We are 30 minutes from Ft. Myers and 60 from Sarasota so we have great access to larger towns but on a day to day basis you get a small town feel. We also have a son that has gone through the elementary school and middle school and is now in high school and has done outstanding.

We also have a great selection of restaurants from high end to family style. As it relates to real estate you will get more for your money in Charlotte County than you would in the other coastal counties.

Finally we have a wonderful boating community with great access to Charlotte Harbor, the Peace River, the Myakka River as well as the Gulf of Mexico. Punta Gorda has also been voted the best healthy place to retire (2008 by Money magazine), and one of the best small towns in America.

Hello and thanks for reaching out. We would love to help assist you with learning about our area. Before we can proceed, I would need a few questions answered first to get a better understanding of what you are looking for.

1) Were you looking to purchase a home or rent?
A) Were you looking for a single family home/condo?
B) Number of beds/baths?
C) Minimum square footage?
D) Price range looking to spend if purchasing?
E) Price range looking to spend a month if renting?

2) Are you looking at enrolling your children in the school system?

There are many great areas to choose from here in Southwest Florida. You have Port Charlotte, North Port, and Punta Gorda. In Punta Gorda you have the Deep Creek Section, the Harbor Heights Section, Downtown area, Historic area, The Isles, The Ranchettes, and a few other locations. We can accommodate you and you family with wonderful views of the harbor, great dining, world class fishing or boat tours, and wonderful people.

I would love to help narrow your criteria down better and be of better assistance you. Please feel free to contact me.

Hello ,

I would be happy to help you . If you would answer a few questions for me I would be better able to do so.

Are you looking for a rental, a new home or condo? Do you have children ? How many bedrooms /baths would you like? Do you need a pool? Are you a boater? Do you need to be near the hospital ? Once you answer these questions I can then lead you in the right direction.

My family has been in Punta Gorda since 1973 I am very familiar with the area . I have been a realtor here for 17 years and our two children have been through the Charlotte County school system. We love Punta Gorda and would not live anywhere else. I look forward to helping you get acquainted with our lovely town. Feel free to give me a call on my toll free number so that we can discuss your needs or if you are more comfortable with email that is fine too.

If you work shift work and want me to call you please indicate that in your email. I do not want to disturb your rest. Thanks so much for the inquiry and I look forward to working with you.

First of all thanks for thinking about moving here, some of the nicest people I know are in the health care field and I for one appreciate all you guys do (guys meaning men & women).

I don't know exactly what you need help with. When we show property we always make sure to include an overview of the general area, this would include places to go and things to do.

If you are looking for areas to live in then it would depend on what type of home you are looking for. There are single family homes, condos and rentals that are within walking and biking distance to Charlotte Hospital.

As for picking out services like transportation, health care, ( well I guess you have that covered!) food, shopping and other things we do have some lists of places that we receive positive feedback on from other customers.

The Punta Gorda, Port Charlotte area is a great place to work and live, we are close to everything yet our community is still small and laid back enough to be enjoyed. The Chamber of Commerce is always a good resource for information and if you send your email I would be happy to provide other links that could help. The best thing to do would be to visit our city even just for a weekend it won't take long to "learn the area," and what you will learn is this is a great place to live. Call or write anytime if you need more info.

Hello,

I have worked with many physicians and other hospital personnel coming to the area. There is a wide variety of housing options both for rent or purchase. Aside from the usual questions about family members, bedrooms, bathrooms, garages, etc. It is helpful to know what interests you may have. Would you like to have a pool, live on the water or a golf course? I would be glad to give you assistance in the relocation process. What is your time frame for relocation? You can reach me by phone at 941-457-1380 or by email at jpquinnkw@gmail.com.

Hello,

Welcome to the neighborhood and congrats on the possible job relocation. There are tons of websites that will help you become more familiar with what Charlotte County has to offer. Some good ones are:

http://www.puntagordachamber.com
http://www.visitflorida.com/en-us/cities/punta-gorda.html

Also, you are more than welcome to us my website to search for properties: http://www.puntagordahomelife.com

Personally I love the area and found it very easy to navigate when I moved here. Our main roads are HWY 41 and Interstate 75. You can get just about anywhere from either of these roads. Punta Gorda has a small town, boutique type feel. We have lots of special restaurants and no fast food except for out near the interstate. If you like to be outdoors then there are several jogging paths, lots of parks and of course Charlotte Harbor! Some of my favorite places are:

Fisherman's Village Mall - Fun shops & restaurants for everyone
Pies & Plates - restaurant & gift shop
Laishley Crabhouse - restaurant (gorgeous view of the harbor)
Mercer's Coffee - if you love coffee!
The Punta Gorda Harborwalk - 2.4 miles along the harbor winding through parks etc. (great for walking, jogging or biking)

There are just a few great places to visit when you are here! Also, if you have a pet, this is a very pet friendly community!

Please let me know if you need any other information!

All My Best,
