Hi, there is no withholding tax on purchasing any property in Florida and only if you are a foreign national, upon the sale if your home would 10% if your sale price be held for up to one year to ensure the payment of taxes.
Should you have further questions, feel free to contact me.
Kind Regards,

There may be a withholding tax if you do not have a Social Security or TIN Number.

None of the taxes you will pay on your purchase of a home in Fort Lauderdale, or anywhere else in Florida, are witholding taxes. All of the very minor taxes you may pay go to the county where the property is located.
