how do i check the history of a property in fern pine ct?

Asked by Kssahchn, 95126 Sun Dec 19, 2010

i am looking to buy a bank owned property in fern pine court next bo Berryessa. Can someone please give me some info/history about that neighborhood?

Also I am trying to find some info about the history of the property... i am mostly concerned about whether there's criminal activity in the house before. Unfortunately the agent cannot provide such info since it's bank owned. Would I be able to find such info in the city office?

1) Police department crime search on property could take several weeks request and obtain those records
2) County records provide you additional history
3) Google search for media published reports for info about the area

Sun Dec 19, 2010 info is derived straight from the San Jose Police Dept. There you can search for crime information by the input of an address. If you would like to email me the address, I can send you a complimentary title history. Kind regards.

Thanks for your post!

First, start with your Realtor. Your agent should have access to property history records, which will give you the names of some of the previous owners. From there, I would contact the City Police Department to see if they can provide you with information about the home or the sellers. The City of San Jose's police department website at will provide you with links to the Megan's Law website and to the crime reporting site at

As to the overall safety of the neighborhood, talk with the neighbors in the area to get information directly from the neighbors about the incidents of crime or the overall impression of safety in the area around Fern Pine Court. Good luck!

You can check local public records, ask neighbors questions, for any criminal activity do check with the local police department, check with the town assessor's office, county clerk/recorder for any possible liens, however do keep in mind that not all liens may have been recorded, check archived local news, etc.; you may also wish to consult with an attorney who specializes in real estate for any legal questions.
