finding a home to rent with option/buy in atl, georgia area

Asked by Riri, Silver Spring, MD Mon Apr 21, 2008

I am a first time home buyer and am planning on moving to the atl ga area by the end of this year 08. I would like to buy a home with a finished basement and 3/3 nice yard and on a culdesac or be the last house on a dead end street. I have traveled to ga before and have checked out the areas of Jonesboro, Ellenwood, Morrow, and would liked the areas and so I would like to find something in one of those areas around $100.000 or less if that is at all possible. I would like to have a brick front and the house not to be facing the sun in the daytime. So if there are any sincere people out there with some good credible advice, I would appreciate it.

I have a house WITH a FINISHED basement with full living including new kitchen, 2 baths bedrooms, living area private drive and entrance. It has a new inground pool. It is on a cul da sac in a nice quiet area 1 minute from West Point Lake wehre there is picnicing, boat ramps, a frequent walking place for many and t heir dogs. Upstairs is full living. House construction I can promise is better than any house you would find. It is steel-construction like commercial. Now the house is more than the price you mentioned; however this is the PERFECT house for someone to live upstairs on main level (full living) and rent the basement. There is a college here and many students rent off campus. I have talked with someone in reference to this and even though I have no way of verifying this but only comparison-it could easily bring in $1200 month rent money. The house is bricik, new pool which has a system that needs vertually no maintenance -a frog system. Everything is like a new house, absolutely nothing to paint, fix. We had an engineer to thoroughly inspect before we bought and I could provide this report. It is better than a new one. The ONLY reason for selling, my parents live downstairs and the 4 of us left South Carolina and all of us miss our 30 years in Columbia, our friends and our churches. My parents are 90 and 94 and I hate for them to miss their friends in their later years. IF you will email me, I will send you pictures and you WILL love the house. Then, if you want to talk, I can call you. Have a blessed day. Marian

I don,t see a date when you posted this but 9/19/2008- I have just what you want (and more) in LaGrange. Now the price is much more BUT our basement is full living in the basement, kitchen, bedrooms, living, 2 baths, laundry room, private drive and private entrance, new inground pool, all brick, house construction is commercial (steel beams, etc) There is a college here and anyone not needing the basement could rent it -really nice, clean as need, very attractive, cul da sac and wonderful location email

We have a house in Jonesboro, two- story, 5 bedroom + office (or a 6th bedroom), 2.5 bath, that we'll be selling soon, and we were going to go with a property management company to do a lease purchase. We aren't on a cul-de-sac, but the sun doesn't face the house during the day. We put in all brand new windows (nice, not cheap ones) and a sliding glass door to the deck. We had a refurbished ac unit put in and serviced just last year. There is brick on the front, grey siding, black shutters, and a red front door. Very roomy house with three living areas and a semi-finished basement. We were probably going to price it around what you are looking for. It just depends on what we have to price it to break even. jktyler @ bellsouth dot net Email if you are interested.

Not sure of exact prices, but I've seen several in Morrow/Forest Park that fit your description. Search foreclosures around $40K and you'll find some. Happy hunting!

It will honestly be hard for you to find a "nice, decent home in move-in condition" for $100K. But I know of a very nice home in Ellenwood that is currently for sale or lease purchase. This home is immaculate, very clean and beautiful. Only 2 yeas old!!!$FLYER/FLYER_ATL_068311_ECHOLSS…

There is a great short sale home located at 624 WOODKNOLL COURT in Jonesboro, GA you may want to consider.

There are only a few homes that meet your search requirements so you may want to consider opening up your options a little so you have more selection in that price range.
