Dear Marilyn Dubois..Think about your needs, and how a mother-daughter house would be a good fit for all concerned. Some examples would be-Common living areas, would you require a seperate front door, 2 kitchens, a seperate living room, or just a 1st floor bedroom. A professional designer would be able to give you greater insight on a space for the needs of everyone as well, and don't forget about your own personal space. Keeping loved ones close by is on the rise considering the cost of nursing homes, and the costs of home maintenance. This could be a win-win situation for you and your family.
The market is unbelievable right now, and there are homes available to better suit your needs regarding your situation. Please talk to a buyer agent who will listen to your needs and will take the time to answer your questions. Good luck and best wishes always, Holly Polsinelli Purdy Realty New York -Serving the Capital District

I think you are talking about a duplex home (side by side or up & down). Contact a local Realtor to be your Buyer's Agent. A Buyer's Agent will protect your interests & find homes for you & your mom to look at, all at no cost to you. The Seller pays the Buyer's Agent's commission.
