I would suggest for you to go to the north of bushwick. Where the dekalb train stop heading towards jefferson, morgan etc. don't go beyond the myrtyle ave stop. look at this crime link will below and that give you an idea.

Bushwick has changed dramatically in my opinion there are pockets in this area that are becoming safer and more and more people are moving here because of gentrification and being so close to the city Its like a mini SOHO you will see more positive changes to come

Dear Peter:

That is a very subjective question. You will get a myriad of different answers depending on who you ask. Remember, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. You need to spend some time in the area, look around and do research. Then you can make an informed decision as to what is best for you. A 2 bedroom apartment can rent from $1,000 per month up to $2,000 per month depending on the location, size and condition of the apartment.

One thing I will tell you, the areas that get the higher rents are the ones that are in the most demand and some would consider the best blocks. If I can be of further assistance please let me know. Good luck!

Do some of your own homework beforehand; when it comes to any safety/crime related issues, it's always best to contact the local police department with all your questions, hear all there is to hear firsthand. If unfamiliar with the area(s) do revisit more than once and at different times of day, possibly chat with locals/neighbors. Real estate professionals are prohibited from steering, enticing a buyer to purchase/rent, or not, in specific neighborhoods.
