If you live in a subdivision with a home owners association - you will need written permission from the Board and/or the architectural comittee.'

Do this BEFORE you put up the fence. I have seen Boards deny owners the permission to erect al kinds of fences and an iron one is questionable in many HOAs guidelines.

If you are wanting to get a fence on that property, it would probably be best to check with the condo association. Since it's not a good idea to go against the bylaws, you will want to check to make sure that you are in accordance with them. If you really need to find a way to keep your dogs contained, then you might just try talking to the association. If they say that it is fine for your property, then I think that an iron fence would be a great option, because I've heard that they last very long! http://www.citywidefence.com/fences_iron.php

This appears to be a condominium. If so, the Rules and Regulations or the Bylaws and Declaration will provide this answer for you. If it is not addressed there you may ask the association if this is possible. Sometimes associations do not want fencing because the landscaper would have to work around such an obstruction.
