can I make multiple offers in PA?

Asked by Stephen Elias, West Windsor, NJ Sat Feb 6, 2010

I'm looking for a lakefront house in PA. Is it legal to make multiple offers on various homes and have multiple "accepts" and then chose one (ie: the best one value for money)?

Stephen, Your realtor should inform you that there is a chance that you will have to buy more than one property if you do this. At the very least you will lose any deposit money on anything you back out of without cause. Tred carefully.

Why not just pick your favorite one, and make an offer? See what you can get it for. If the seller won't come to an agreement with you, move on to #2. Don't take a chance like this or you may end up in a legal mess.

Yes it is legal. But why? The only one at risk is you. Not the best plan.
