are insurance companies withdrawing from insuring homes near the water?

i am intersted in a new construction in tottenville but i am worried that it will not be insurable. it is 1000 ft from beach and didnt sustain any damage from sandy, the water didnt come close to it

It's plausible that some insurance companies will not be willing to underwrite coverage that close to the water front. Call Cheryl of Mark Lauria and Associates to inquire about coverage: 718-370-7287.

Alot has to do location on the flood maps, and the premiums are adjusted accordingly.

A lot of companies have backed away from coverages due to flooding. There are some who are still active.
