That's a common question from someone that sounds frustrated. All you need is a trustworthy source to advise and guide you to zero in on a pragmatic solution. I maybe able to help.

The main reason is craigslist is not the preferred web site of most Real Estate professionals that handle decent, clean safe affordable housing just like beauty is in the eye of the beholder so is affordable housing. What is affordable to one person may not be affordable to another. Please call me at 215-725-5700 X49

I didn't expect "Realtors" to search craigslist for MY ad--but, since none that I've Fwd my ad to have even bothered to look at it--speaks volumes! I have mitigating circumstances, but--if you looked at my post--thoroughly you'd already know that wouldn't you?

the definition of affordable is the issue
housing is very affordable compared to other major metropolitan areas. good luck in your search
I'm sure there are many licensed agents eager to provide you the assistance you require

The 'definition' most "Realtors" seem to be working with is a run down ghetto shack for top dollar rent for their client--the slumlord they represent--or the Real estate Holding Company masquerading as a "Management " Company.
