Price is always based on location. There are many factors that determine the market value - most important in today's market is the sales price of similiar homes within a miles radius that have sold in the past 6 months.

HI Puddytat,

This is going to be a very subjective personal opinion. The market price it as how much people pay for it.

One thing is Carrollton is an older part of area and Richardson is newer. But there is also 100k home in the Richardson area depends on where you are and Richardson homes are newer and usually bigger than most in Carrollton. Hence the price is more. But dont get me wrong I have worked in both area and they are both good area! Carrollton is a little further out however but closer to the DFW airport. Its just depends on what you are looking for.

I would be more than happy to send you more statistic on properties in both area. You can email me at dixondfw@gmail.com

Because, over a long time, people have decided that they will pay more to live in Richardson than in Carrollton:

Just depends on the area, age, type of house.
On average Plano is probably more because it is newer.
Richardson more or less got built out first, then Plano.
There are still a few new homes being built in Plano, but virtually none in Richardson.

Doesn't necessarily mean one is better than another, just different.

I would also guess on average there are some much larger and more expensive homes in Plano vs Richardson.

Richardson based on days on market and having worked and lived in both is a much more popular area as it is closer to the telecom corridor, tons of shopping and dining and is a short commute to anywhere north of Downtown! Call, Email or Text me an I will assist you in any way I can! You can reach me usually until 10:00pm.
