Why do the majority of homes in Bakersfield have wood fencing, even move up homes in nicer subdivisions and new construction?

It might just be a matter of preference. Some people really like the way a wood fence looks in their yard. It also might be a matter of the housing rules for that area. Either way they probably look very nice and do their job of dividing the yards from each other.

It's a matter of preference and I think neighbors sometimes decide together. That way the whole neighborhood will kind of match instead of having mismatched fences. There are lots of options for fencing, but choosing one doesn't make the other options wrong. http://www.buyrningwood.com

Hello Roman,
That is an interesting question and the only answer I can think of at this time is cost. There are some areas that do block wall fencing, and usually it is based on the subdivision plans. Custom built home areas you will find more variations of fencing types. I hope this helps, and let me know if you are looking at buying a home in the near future.

I think wood fencing is a little bit more pleasing to the eye compared to other fencing materials. I would prefer to get a wood fence over other ones, because it looks better in front of a house compared to a chain link. I think it's just a really good option. http://www.elrodfence.com/faq.nxg
