Baltimore is a huge area and there are over 225 distinct neighborhoods, each having their own ammenities and specific personality. It is against the law for an agent to tell you whether an area is bad or not without having specific knowledge of that area. However, there are a lot of websites that will provide you with criminal activity within certain geographic areas. I recommend you take a look at the Live Baltimore website http://(www.LiveBaltimore.com), most of the neighborhoods have information pages with notes about ammenities, schools, churches, shopping, types of home and links to city websites that will tell you about criminal activity in the area. Charles Village has a lot to offer in terms of local shops and entertainment, Hampden is another neighborhood with lots to do and local shopping. You may also conside Lauraville which has a very strong community association, shopping along the Harford Road corridor and a mixture of row houses and single family homes. Fells Point and Canton also have a lot to offer, then Highlandtown and Greektown. It all depends on your price point and what types of ammenities you are looking for and whether you want to live in the city or in nearby towns.

I lived in Parkville 21234, and I loved the detached homes, clean neighborhoods, and the value of home that is given for the purchase price! Also the fact that there are so many beautiful neighborhoods, is it as your tucked away on a beautiful tree lined street, if you find the right neighborhood within that area. But there are so many to choose. Any more questions about the neighborhood send me an email.
