My best advice is to visit the schools. Why would you put your childrens education in the hands of a real estate agent. Try to attend a PTO meeting, all the issues come out there.

While http://www.greatschools.org is a terrific website, it is also a website that allows parent to rate their schools, so can obviously be a bit biased pro and con depending on that parents experience. While you can argue that parents evaluations are important, the overall "performance" of a school is a better indication of the school quality.

Here's a link to the NJ HS Report card from 2010 (they do this every 2 years so the new one should be out soon) which is based on performance standards..

You can scroll down and see that J P Steven High (zip 08820) was ranked #64 out of 322 high schools, and Edison High (zips 08817 and 08837) was ranked # 177.

Again, give me a call and I will be happy to discuss this in more detail and answer any other questions you may have.

Hi Kesavasanth,

Edison has North side and South Side. North Edison is slightly more expensive than South Edison due to several factors. Schooling as you can check on http://www.greatschools.org. is slightly better in North Edison (08820) compared to South Edison (zips 08817 and 08837).
I have sold several properties in both North and South Edison. Will be more than happy to help you with any additional information.
I can also assist you with any area(s) to your interest near Edison.

Please do not hesitate to call.

I have lived in Edison since 1983 and both my kids went through the public school system. The Edison schools are very good.

So it will really depends on what you are looking for as far as size of the home, price range etc. The "north" side of Edison (zip 08820) is typically a bit pricier than the south side (zips 08817 and 08837), though there are homes in all price ranges/styles throughout the town.

Give me a call for a no obligation discussion of what you are looking for. I am sure I can help you find a home in the area. 908-675-0167
