Townhouses for adults 55 and over. We have known couples over the years that have liked the amenities of a complex that might have included a club house, pool and tennis courts.

These days, 60 is the new 40. Many adults are very active and looking for golf courses, walking paths and parks. There are park-like settings all over the Greater Denver Metropolitan Area. Some are physically close to hospitals and clinics.

Trulia Denver,

In Denver there are several. I think the most popular is Windsor Gardens in SE Denver. Heather Gardens is a nice community as well and one of my favorites. A new one is the Fairway Villas in Green Valley Ranch. All of these are 55 and over communities. Denver is a great place for senior living.

It depends on what things are important to you. Would you like to be in the suburbs, in the city, or in the mountains? Do you want to be close to amenities or would you like to feel more secluded? Is it important to be near a community center? Do you have family or friends living in the area that you want to stay close to? What is the price range you are looking at? There are many factors to consider when choosing a neighborhood. I recommend starting a list of what is important to you and contacting a few realtors to interview. Your chosen realtor will be able to help you narrow down a few neighborhoods that will fit your needs. Once you find a few neighborhoods that you would like to consider, you can even knock on some neighborhood doors and let them know that you are thinking about moving into the neighborhood and would like to talk to them about the area. Some people may be too busy, but you will at the very least be able to meet some of the neighbors ahead of time. Good luck in your search!

There are a number of variables that should be explored; detached vs. attached housing, age restricted communities, HOA fees and amenities, location and price to name a few. I would highly suggest that this topic be discussed with your Realtor (preferably one that is an SRES, Seniors Real Estate Specialist®) so that the right home can be selected.
