When a home inspection is done, do they test water for contamination?

A home inspection is normally a "structural" inspection and would not include water sampling & testing. This can be arranges at an additional expense. It is a fairly simple process that you could also manage on your own.

In addition to the last comment, there are companys such as Rain Soft who will come and provide a water test for free. However, just be aware that they are in the business of filters, so they are going to try to sell you their product. Having a test done myself, I did end up buying a water filtration system which has been well worth the expense. Even if you find an area that doesn't have great water, you can add one of these systems to your home and have high quality, filtrated water. I personally went with a company called

Not unless you specifically order a water test. That would be an additional expense that you would pay. If it is on public water - we have excellent water here. The city has high standards for water in this area. Let me know if you have other questions. Deborah 843-340-1590.
