What's the reasonable price in a very good school area for a single family home with at least 1600sqft in Pleasanton?

Asked by Leo, 94588 Sun Aug 29, 2010

Wondering what would it cost to buy a home that fits this criteria: At least 3 bedroom 2 bath, 1600 sqft, very good school area(900 API), has backyard, 2 car garage, not too old(not more than 15-20yr old) etc.

Thanks everybody for responses. Very helpful. Livermore/Dublin/San Ramon prices are more attractive but they are too far from work for me.
May be i need to settle for Townhouse or shell out more money for single family.

It appears the houses that fit my criteria seems to be around $380 per sqft in Pleasanton. Its a bit over my budget, was hoping it would be a bit less....

Most sellers are pricing their homes now where they should be. Depending on the price location and condition, some home get multiple offers now adays. Pleasanton is very desirable due to fact that it has BART, great schools, 580and 680. It is very convenient to many amenities. Pleasanton homes keep their values. Good luck.

The neighborhoods that you should look into are Stoneridge Square and Place, Pleasanton Meadows and Fairlands. If you want a backyard, the last two are for you. The price range for current active homes is $600-655,000. API scores are well over the 900, Fairlands and Mohr Elementary schools. Give me a call and I can help.
