Keep in mind opinions are subjective--why not do some of your own homework first--visit neighborhoods more than once and at different times of day--look at everything of importance to you and determine if your level of comfort can be reached--as for the schools, call or visit the district directly, ask about test scores, special programs, etc., or check them out online--a little homework will go a long way and you will thank yourself later.

Super sensitive issue, I say spend some time in the neighborhood due some research on the internet and see what you come up with.

Realtors are not allowed to disclose this kind of information. It is called steering (big No No). Search the internet, talk to family and friends. Ask the neighbors. Check the location during the day as well as at night. Weekdays verses weekends. Call local police they will inform you.

We as agents can not comment on crime and things of that nature. If you are concerned check out this website: chicago.everyblock.com/crime/

R E Agents are not allowed (or at least not supposed ) to talk about such things as 'safety' or other subjective aspects of a neighborhood because we might say something that could violate fedreal antidiscrimination laws. Our usual vague answer is to suggest that you check with the police department for crime statistics etc. There are also lots of school information on line and remember, what seems 'safe' to one person might not be so 'safe' to another person. Perhaps check with friends, family or coworkers for their opinions also.
